F.A.Q
What is the difference between commercially tanned leather and naturally tanned leather?
Chem-tanned leather is processed using synthetic chemicals, most commonly chromium salts, often still sold as commercial "VEG TAN" leather. This method has a higher environmental impact due to chemical waste and by products created from its use. A wide variety of other synthetic chemical and formaldehydes are also used in the process.
In contrast, naturally bark-tanned leather uses tannins extracted from tree bark, making it a more organic, eco-friendly, body safe leather product.
Are your sheepskins machine washable?
All sheep skin rugs can be machined washed with a small amount of natural light soap. Avoid detergents as these can degrade leather over time. After care instructions are provided with each hide on it's way home.
